Today i was observing the videos created by TMZ (world's biggest gossip blog) to know the secret behind.. And i got it!
Videos created by TMZ are basically divided into 4 parts-
1. Unseen celebrity footage or raw footage
2. Gossip in between the editors
3. Mixing up with footage & the gossip
4. Proper Editing
It works in a manner that the reporters of TMZ collects some unseen footages of the celebrities on road, shopping mall, concert, etc and bring them to the editor. The editor then make a good story out of it & raise an interesting discussion with the reporter who acquired the footage along with other reporters and everyone shares their own opinion which gives birth to a gossip. This discussion is video recorded & then sent to video editor, who actually mix both the footage & the discussion in a timeline that it looks well presentable. Later, he add the intro at the beginning to brand the video.
The reason behind sharing about TMZ's video kitchen is to let you aware about their video creating process and now i'm going to tell about how you can shoot your own gossip video.
Like TMZ you can't afford to pay the paparazzi for reports and even reaching celebrities to collect information is not an easy job. What you can do?
I think you've local celebrity in your place, so make them your content. Local celebrities are much more easier to reach. But to get a good information, you need to follow them regularly & wait for some rare footage.
Even though you need a team to create your own local celebrity gossip show, where each member will dedicatedly stick to a celebrity to peep into their life. All you can do is encourage your friends to join you in your work to collect information.
Ok, let's assume that you've got the footage that you wanted, but still it's not enough to grab peoples' attention because you need a good story along with it. To make a good Story - discuss with the reporter who acquired the footage & ask about the situation he covered. Collect as much information as you can and mix it to a story, as you know gossip are not always true.
Then organize a round table discussion with your friends (reporters) and video record it.
Now input both the footage as well as the discussion in your video editor and split the videos into many clips. Arrange the clips in the manner like – first 3 seconds footage & then few seconds of discussion related to that, and again do the same thing. It's not necessary that you need to use the whole the footage & discussion in the video... you should avoid adding the unnecessary clips & useless part of the discussion. Cut those Off! Here, now your gossip video is ready.. Just add an intro in beginning to brand it and a soft beat of music at the background.
